New York 2008

It’s a little late to post about it but I finally decided now I should post about my trip to New York with my girlfriend haha. This would be my 10th time going, but 1st time going without family.. All in all, there can be a lot to say about 4 day stay . It’s obviously a lot more cultured then most cities. It was a break from Miami, that’s for sure. And I really enjoyed the cold weather and layering up like a fool. I felt at home ! Even when those 30 mph winds hit my face causing me to almost get on my knees and pray to mother nature to stop messing with my body temperature, I said ” awesome ”

1 hour delay, what a surprise.

se ya later miami

So when I finally got out of the LGA airport, I came across this gem right as I stepped out of the doors, what are the odds? What a welcome haha

My GF and I stayed with my good friend Nick, in the NYU dorms. Apparently every dude is gay, and does gay things. Cool.

at Night, we went to time square (but of course) and walked around and ate shit at Toys R Us.. So much shit around you I don’t see how anybody could get bored with just walking around. It was awesome.

(taken with nicks camera)

(Yes man was an awesome movie, please watch it if you’re bored with your life you nerd)

the next day was shopping day… boy do I love spending stupid money on stupid shit.
one of the reasons I came to NY was to actually get clothes, hooray for debt!

First Uniqlo, amazing store layout.. I felt like I was in a candy land..
Amazing clothing for amazing prices.. and theres always some science behind each piece.
Those Japanese really know how to run shit.

then Supreme, of course. Ran me out of my money

and lastly, Union. Good dudes!

the Bape store seemed pretty lonely.. There weren’t a lot of people wearing Bape around NY actually, not like in 2006 last time I went.. This time it seemed the brand-trend was over-with.. The people who worked there didn’t really seem to know or care about the history that Bape holds.. It’s almost like they hired them to appeal to that certain demographic of hip-hop kids.. which seemed pretty funny, but I could be judging and assuming too quickly. oh well, I Couldn’t help but laugh at the song being played when I went in. “FUCK YOU LUDA, SAY FUCK YOU LUDA”.. awesome. They did have some pretty neat stuff inside, bape chukka boots looked great, but I told myself not to got any shoes. I can get shoes anywhere, clothing seems harder to come by. Either way, it’s all “worn-out” by the internet. The internet ruined the impulse and feeling of buying things when traveling and even in general. I liked knowing that I had to travel great lengths to have a product, I think it’s great to buy straight from the store and not from somebody online. It just makes the product feel that much more authentic, I don’t know, maybe thats just me

I didn’t really make it to reedspace or had enough time to make it to others.. such a shame, next trip I need to stop by 45rpm and blue AND green (not blue IN green, fuck)

So after all that stupid shopping, I was done with it, I wanted to go out and feel New York for the city. the next day I met up with my good friend and partner, Neek (stussy LV, ex-hundreds, ex-fruition, blahblah) I love this guy, we went around and went to a lot of places to just kick shit and really savor New York.

So I told him to meet up with me at Sacred Chow (thanks Keith!), which is this small vegan restaurant that makes delicious food, and i’m not even vegan!

the wait was a little long, there was one guy serving 5 little tables. but it was well worth it

I ordered a Banana Nut French Toast, it’s as good as it looks.. Crispy edges, soft warm center.. topped off with cinnamon and other shit haha.. DELICIOUS!

Rachel got a Omega-3 waffle, which was also delicious

the bill was ruff, but the food was tuff.
after we decided to walk around everywhere in NY. As do the people in NY
I think the one thing I loved the most, were the amount of dogs everywhere! so damn cute!

I tried to get as many pictures as I could of all of them but they were everywhere I turned.

thats right, TWO different Shiba Inu’s… What are the odds! Rachel loved it

Lots of subway riding, lots of New York walking. It all felt so right..

We made out to central park area at around 4:30, which also happens to be nightfall, mad wicked.
Tried going to the Kaws Gallery, but most art galleries have a winter schedule, which means they close both sunday AND monday.. the two days I planned on going to galleries, go figure!

Things just keep on impressing me..

and of course, FAO SCHWARTZ. I remember going there when I was a JIT! Furby was the flavor of the month then.. now it was this dog hotel movie, along with other weird animal shit

Myachi? they got kids playing with a fucking beanbag? have they lost their minds? How crazy can you toss a beanbag with it out touching your hands.. or some shit, god awful, these kids were brainwashed!

Aint she the cutest?

Nutcracker off-duty

Lego shit

Cute boston terriers, not so cute prices

whatever, too much shit at that toy store, almost blew my head open

we went around and did some quick food, typical tourist NY shit haha, it was good though!

Ran into this place Popburger by accident, I got intrigued by the typography on the walls, didn’t even know it was a place to eat! Found out that the food was fucking delicious..

call it a day, the rest is just walking around NY, enjoying its peaceful environment

the next / last day ..

Went to this place for breakfast, didn’t catch the name but holy shit that sandwhich was good

The squirrels are so cute and fat

So I was bummed that the art galleries were closed, but I took a chance with the Yone gallery I heard about. We went anyway and the guys were nice enough to let us in and look at it. Of course, Yone’s photos are incredibly amateur and sensual. I love that fujifilm instax shit, so it was nice to look at the photos of girls I wish I could dabble my face in..

that about ends my trip to NY. It was a bitch grabbing heavy bags through out subways and buses and people, but it was worth it, I like the struggle.

made it on time for the best snack a man can have… Auntie Anne’s pretzels… god-like.

Hello Miami…

thanks for reading!

happy holidays fellas

so my favorite tiem of the year, I think. One of the most memorable moments would be when I opened up 2 gifts 3 days before christmas when I was like 9 or 10. I had no clue or something, I was a stupid kid. The gifts unraveled one of my most prized toys. Ren & Stimpy plushies that came with the x-mas VHS (in orange of course) I was so stoked and I got in trouble for doing it so, I want to share with you my beautiful mind.
